Tiger Woods Injured

Tiger Woods was injured in an early morning car crash near his Florida home. According to early reports he suffered facial lacerations and has been released from the hospital. The injuries were listed as serious on the police report but details are not yet available. The car he was driving hit a fire hydrant and a tree near his Windermere home, alcohol was not a contributing factor in the collision. Tiger is scheduled to play next week at the Chevron World Championship in California.

Tiger Roars Back, Others Close In

Tiger Woods may have erased some of the doubt about his game with a win at his AT&T tournament this weekend, the weekend also showed that others have stepped up their game. Hunter Mahan shot a final round 62 to finish second to Woods. His Sunday effort was five strokes lower than Tiger and four shots clear of the second lowest round for the day. Mahan continues his excellent play following his tie for sixth at the U.S. Open. Mahan certainly secured his spot as a contender for the British Open title to be decided later this month.

Anthony Kim failed to make a charge on Sunday and continued to miss shots to the left during his final round 71 en route to a third place finish. Kim suffered several injuries last year and is perhaps still struggling to find his swing.

There is no doubt that Tiger Woods is continuing his good play but has yet to display his domination of years past. Only time will tell if he will find it again if fellow competitors have stepped up their game enought to keep pace.
